A Rogue occultist as compared to the Charlatan earlier is any individual who possesses a genuine form of Occult knowledge but who does not by ethical standards use that knowledge for the greater good. Such individuals are genuine occultists at most times, they are passionate about their study of the occult and will go to any length to gain the knowledge they desire however their reasons for wanting such knowledge is very simple. They desire power over others. Any descent occultist when either in theory or practice will never desire to use their knowledge and methods taught of them in an abusive manner in fear of Karmic repercussions as well as the fact that any responsible practitioner of the occult sciences would never allow themselves to violate the gifts of the spirit by using them for selfish reasons.
The rogue occultist though however has for lack of a better phrase Fallen from grace knowing the Karmic repercussion that is present when using the gifts of the occult negatively they still continue to allow the negative aspect of their psyche to dominate themselves. The rogue occultist with particular emphasis on the urban type is always in the search for more power in the field of the occult and will not stop their perpetual search for knowledge. For to the rogue occultist knowledge is power and power is their opium.
It is thus important for us to know what will drive a practitioner of the occult from the benevolent side of practice to that of the corrupted side of the practices. While the benevolent practitioner of the occult will seek to use their skills for the betterment of others and for the greater good the rogue occultist usually has personal gratification in mind. Not caring for the well being of others the rogue occultist will utilize any part of their knowledge of the occult that they possess to obtain what they want.
Many of those who have been discovered to be rogue occultists have within them a lingering sense of inadequacy, their lack of self respect and worth is usually the driving force that drives them for the need of mastery of the practices of the occult. The rogue occultist will feel that with the more knowledge of the occult they possess the more powerful they shall become. In the end it ultimately boils down to the total lack of self esteem within the Rogue Occultist that would drive them to seek out further knowledge and methods within occult sciences………
